GTA 6 PC Release: Take-Two Signals It's Coming

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick says PC is growing in importance for the company, hinting a GTA 6 PC release is a matter of when, not if.

Take-Two's PC Comments Add Fuel to the Fire

GTA 6 launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026, with no PC version announced at this time. But remarks made by Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick at the company's virtual shareholder meeting have once again turned up the heat on the question of a PC port.

Zelnick stated that Take-Two publishes games on any platform where a "meaningful audience" exists, and added that PC is becoming "more and more important" to the company over time. He wasn't referencing GTA 6 directly — this was a broader comment about Take-Two's platform strategy — but the implication for Rockstar's flagship title is hard to ignore.

History Points Toward a PC Port

Rockstar has a well-established pattern of bringing its biggest titles to PC after an initial console window:

  • GTA 5 launched on console in September 2013 and arrived on PC roughly 18 months later, in April 2015.
  • Red Dead Redemption 2 followed a similar path, debuting on console in October 2018 before landing on PC in November 2019 — about 12 months later.

If GTA 6 follows that same playbook, a PC release somewhere in the 2027–2028 window would be a reasonable expectation, though nothing has been confirmed.

What This Means for PC Players

No official PC announcement has been made. Everything here is based on executive comments and historical patterns — treat it as informed speculation until Rockstar says otherwise.

For now, PC players will need to wait while console owners get first access. The silver lining is that Rockstar typically uses the extra development time to deliver a more polished PC version, complete with higher graphical settings and modding potential.
