GTA 6 Leak Subpoenas: Discord Not Yet Served

Take-Two Goes Legal Over GTA 6 Leaks

Rockstar's parent company Take-Two Interactive has filed subpoenas in a US federal district court as part of an effort to track down the source of Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks. The legal filings reportedly seek a broad range of user data from two major platforms: Discord and Microsoft.

The scope of the request is significant — rather than targeting a single account, the subpoenas appear designed to cast a wide net across user activity on both services.

Discord Says It Hasn't Been Served Yet

Despite the filings becoming public knowledge, Discord has confirmed that it has not yet been formally served with the subpoena. That means the platform has not yet been required to act on any data requests, though that situation could change quickly once service is completed.

Microsoft's position on the matter has not been publicly clarified at the time of writing.

This is an ongoing legal situation. Details may change as the subpoenas are formally served and companies respond.

What This Means for GTA 6

The 2022 GTA 6 footage leak remains one of the largest in gaming history, and it's clear Take-Two has no intention of letting it go quietly. A few things worth noting:

• Legal action of this scale signals how seriously the company is treating the leak investigation.
• User data requests from platforms like Discord can be broad, potentially affecting accounts tangentially linked to leak discussions.
• This does not affect the game's development or its confirmed release date of November 19, 2026.

For players simply excited about the game, this is background noise rather than cause for concern. But it does serve as a reminder that Rockstar and Take-Two continue to protect their IP aggressively ahead of one of gaming's most anticipated launches.
