Speaking to IGN, Houser's position was measured: he said he doesn't personally feel strongly either way, but believes studios and publishers have a responsibility to offer physical copies if there is genuine consumer demand for them.

Keep in mind Dan Houser departed Rockstar back in 2020 and has no direct role in GTA 6's development. His brother, Sam Houser, remains at Rockstar ahead of the game's November 19, 2026 release.
